Liai was born in Uganda & his family originated to St. John’s from south Sudan in 2006 at the age of 6. Liai is a Holy Heart of Mary alumni and graduated in 2021. He was a member of the senior boys basketball team and were 4A Champions in 2019.

Liai has been involved with the club basketball scene since 2014 as a member of both SAB & Rock Elite programs. Liai has won the provincial club championships 4 times under our banner and was also a member of the 2nd Place Club Nationals Rock Elite Team. He started coaching with SJMB in 2022 and is looking forward to helping develop the next generation of players here in NL!
