Basketball has been a huge part of Calvin’s life, both as a player and now as a coach. Throughout the years, Calvin has played on school teams, provincial teams, and in men’s leagues. Basketball has given him the opportunity to compete, build friendships, and create many great memories both on and off the court.

After taking a few years away from the game, Calvin found his way back to basketball when his own children developed an interest in the sport. In 2018, he returned to the court as a coach with Leary’s Brook Junior High and quickly rediscovered his passion for basketball.

Calvin enjoys helping young athletes develop their skills, gain confidence, and learn the value of teamwork. Seeing players improve and develop a love for the game is what makes coaching so rewarding for him. He especially enjoys being able to share his experience and passion for basketball with the next generation.

For Calvin, success is not just about the scoreboard. He believes that hard work, effort, and a willingness to keep learning are what make a great player and a great teammate. He encourages his players to give their best effort every time they step on the court, support one another, and never be afraid to work hard and challenge themselves.
