For more than two decades, Alex has been following his unwavering passion for the game of basketball. As a former college athlete, Alex began his post-secondary journey alongside the Memorial University Sea Hawks in 2009 and concluded his career as co-captain of the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics in 2015. Throughout his time as a player, Alex was actively dedicated to giving back to the game through the development and execution of youth basketball programs in both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Collectively, Alex’s experiences have laid the foundation to transition into his current role as coach. Working alongside the St. John’s Minor Basketball team, Alex is eager to leverage his knowledge and experience to shape the potential of young talents. His coaching philosophy goes beyond merely imparting technical prowess; Alex strives to instill in players the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance, which he believes are essential for success both on and off the court.

Originally hailing from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Alex now proudly resides in Torbay with his wife, son and daughter.
