Andrew Rideout

Team Member

For over a decade, Andrew has pursued the game of basketball, an interest that led to a passion at the age of 12. Andrew has been an active player in the St. John’s amateur league for more than ten years. His basketball achievements include representing Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the national level and being part of the West Coast All-Star team. Andrew also had the honor of being named MVP in the Maharajah High School All-Newfoundland All-Star Game. Although he was recruited to play university basketball, Andrew chose to explore other endeavors such as working a seventeen-year career as a Nondestructive Testing Technician.

Andrew’s experiences have instilled within him the values, skills, and perseverance it takes to excel in basketball, and he is excited to work with young athletes to ensure they gain the same passion for the sport. To Andrew, basketball is a sport with which one gains skills that transcend the court: team building, sportsmanship, and drive.

Originally from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Andrew now resides in Pouch Cove with his wife, Rebeccah, and their two sons, Emerson and Beckett. Together, they enjoy hunting, foraging, exploring the outdoors, and acting as active participants in their community.
