Darnell has had a passion for basketball ever since junior high, but first made the jump to playing the sport in high school. He hasn’t looked back since, and has been involved with basketball in some capacity for the last 14 years. He brings 9 years of coaching experience at the Junior High and High School levels.

He started as assistant with Leary’s Brook Junior High for 3 years, and later became the head coach of the Grade 7 boys at Brookside Intermediate, where he coached the same group for 3 years until they graduated Grade 9. He then was an assistant with the Prince of Wales Collegiate Junior team for a year, and then moved onto become the head coach of the Junior/Senior B team at Prince of Wales for 2 years.

Darnell is extremely excited to join the team here at SJMB, and transition into club basketball. He’s super excited to get to work and help the next generation fall in love with basketball just like he has!
