John grew up playing basketball at every opportunity, playing through junior high school. He loved watching the Celtics in the 1980’s and the Bulls in the 1990’s. He took an interest in coaching while in university and had the opportunity to coach his first minor basketball team. He moved to Newfoundland in 2000 to study and continued to play the game passionately including in the St. John’s City League. He has resumed coaching since his sons have started playing basketball and is looking forward to help them and their teammates develop their own passion for the game.
